TUESDAY IS NEWSDAY

Tuesday is Newsday is an email newspaper that presents world news using language children can easily read and understand.

It leaves out the horror one reads in the mainstream media but covers important issues using sensitively-selected angles to stories.

It is targeted at nine to twelve-year-olds but there are also readers on either side of this age range.

Each issue carries a World News, Asia-Australasia News, Africa News, Environment News, Business News and Sports News story as well as a Today in History page.

Difficult words in the news stories are highlighted and explained, in their context, in a glossary. Following each glossary is a worksheet.

To request some free samples, please email tuesdayisnewsday@gmail.com. A year's subscription for schools costs R380 per year. A year's subscription for homeschooling and personal use costs R330. Any international schools that would like a subscription will be charged US$33 (via a South African EFT) or payable via PayPal.

It is the brainchild of journalist Duncan Guy who started it for his own children many years ago (they are now adults) , and couldn't stop!
